Stolen Saviors Ch 40

Alex: “Come on, I won’t bite too hard.”

Hunter: “Haha, go ahead, I wanna see what you’re made of.”

Alex tightens her ponytail excitingly.  She motions her hand over to a mat, which she skips over to playfully.

Alex: “Right this way!”

Dominic: “Really. We barely met this girl and now she wants to beat us up.”

Hunter: “Oh loosen up Dom, it’ll be fun!”

Dominic and Hunter walk onto the mat.  Alex posed in an attack position of her fists crossed in front, her feet dug into the mat. She had a devious grin. Hunter posed in attack loosely and Dom just stood there being stubborn.  

Dominic: “I honestly find no point in this.”

Alex: “There is no point! It’s just for fun man, loosen up.”

Hunter: “ You gotta, excuse him. He’s over all not much of a fighter haha.”

Dominic: “Hey, I fight!”

Hunter: “Nah, you mostly stand around and tell us what to do.”

Dominic: “Not…most, of the time…”

Alex: “Hey, if that’s true, prove it to me!”

Alex gives a high kick aiming for Dominic’s head. Dominic dodges frantically. The kids watch in ah and excitement cheering for Alex.

Dominic: “I wasn’t ready!”

Alex: “You seem like you are now haha”

Dominic: “Ugh, fine. You both are ticking me off anyways…”

Dominic bolts at Alex and goes for a punch. Alex gets out of the way and grabs the sleeve of his jacket by the elbow. She pulls it down towards her making him fall. Before he can hit the ground she knees him hard in the stomach.

Hunter: Dominic! I was gonna go first!”

Dominic falls to the mat on his knees and forearms. He quickly stumbles to get up and back to business like it never happened.

Alex: I must say, for being stubborn you can shake off a blow pretty good.

Dominic just stares blank at her in all seriousness. He goes for the same move. Alex goes to grab his arm again but he sikes her and slides to the ground towards her ankles, kicking them. She flips to the ground falling on her back with a jump. When she’s down, Dominic gets over her. He gets down putting his feet around her ankles so she can’t kick free. He then wraps his hands around her throat putting her in a lock.

Hunter: “Nice one Dom! Even though you stole my turn...”

Dominic: “Oh stop whining Hunt!”

Alex struggles in his hold. She gave up and looked up at him with a smirk.

Alex: “Hmp, I gotta say, that was good. Didn’t see that coming.”

Dominic: “You showed me how. That first move was just a way to find a weak spot. You gotta keep your feet firm to the ground even when just using your hands.”

Alex: “Gotcha. Oh, there’s one thing you missed too actually.”

Dominic: “Hm?”

Alex: “When you go to put someone in a choke hold, don’t forget they have their arms are under you!”

Alex put her hands together in a ball between her and Dominic and pushed her arms up fast between his arms making his hands slip from her neck. He lost balance falling on top of her. Alex then wraps her arms around his waist rolling over on top of him then stands up quickly. She sets her foot on his throat, looking down at him.

Alex: “I could have smashed in your neck, leaving you dead or really crippled.  Lucky for you, you’re pretty cool, so I’ll let you be.”

Dominic blew an out of line hair from his face. He sighed in a smile.

Dominic: “Okay, okay, that was good. But… I have a secret weapon! Hunter!”

Alex: “Wha-?!”

Before Alex could react Hunter comes darting from the side. He jumps on her, tackling to the ground. Alex struggles to get free but Hunter is too heavy. The children laugh at her troubles.

Alex: “Hey! No allies!”

Hunter: “Haha! You’re the one that wanted to fight both of us!”

He stood up and picked Alex up by the waist then threw her over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes holding her feet and hands locked in his arms.

Alex: “What are you doing, man?”

Hunter: “haha, you’re light!”

Alex kicked her feet free from his arm. She wrapped her legs around him tightly and grabbed the back of his shoulders. With all her might, she tried pulling her and him to the ground. It was no use though. Hunter was too strong.

Alex: “Gah! You’re a fricking boulder!!”

Hunter: “Oh, thanks?!”

Alex gave up and lay slumped over his shoulder.

Alex: “*Pant* okay, you win. “

Hunter: “Yay for eating a lot! And Muscle! And, being a guy!”

The kids laughed and cheered for Hunter. He turned to them bowing and joking around still holding Alex like she was nothing. He looks over to Dominic smiling.

Hunter: “I like these kids!”

Suddenly, a boy bursts through the doors of the training room. Everyone stops and turns their attention to him. He’s wearing a blue-netted beanie with the HQ logo and under it reads: MESSENGER. Alex notices and climbs down from Hunter to approach the guy.

Alex: “What’s up, Chris?”

Chris: “Uh, we have someone-a refuge-they were sent here by someone. Say they actually know two newbies here, I guess?”

Kori looks back at Dominic and Hunter questionable. They looked back puzzled.

Kori crossed his arms and walked over to Chris.

Kori: “Who?”

Chris: “Its uh, I’m sorry. One sec…”

Chris poked his head out the door to a figure in the background.

Chris: “I’m sorry, what was your name again?”

The figure enters the room. They wear a hood, hiding away from everyone. It raises its hands to the hood, lowering to the back of their shoulders. Two large ears immediately appear from tangled, blue hair. The person looks up. It’s Cyrus.

Kori, Hunter, and Dominic gasp.

“Cyrus?!!”

She hesitates to look up at them. She gives a weak smile at the corner of her mouth, which fades quickly.

Cyrus: “Hey guys.”
